Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the hot pan. Cook each side for 4-5 minutes, until it turns golden brown and is fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Whisk in the flour to create a roux, and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Slowly add the chicken broth, whisking constantly to avoid forming lumps.
  • Stir in the milk and dried thyme, and season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the gravy simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the pan and coat with the delicious gravy.
  • Serve the chicken and gravy immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
